no time like the present ----

So, here we are nearing the end of August. No time like the present to do the things i have imagined doing. I am in a new phase of life. Being a Child of the 60s means these are my 50s (Happy Happy Happy about it, rocking the 50s because it is where i am!!) In an effort to get organized and productive i ordered Lara Casey's Make it Happen Powersheets. ...stay tuned

Guilt...

is about unresolved sin. To feel guilty for something suggests that one has not turned from it, repented of it, or asked forgiveness. "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit." Romans 8

Today, i am not....

taking my life for granted.

You are strong enough...

I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey -- that is really no surprise. I am a fan of period films altogether. Mostly Jane Austen, and Charles Dickens.... mostly BBC. They know how to lavish us with authenticity: the sets, the clothes, the settings, the food, the manners! oh everything about the era is detailed in the most appealing ways.... and the stories!! Tonight, thanks to the generosity of DA fans in Europe, the USA fan base was bestowed links and tips on how to watch the newest season.... 4! a special thank you to http://amphoriabello.blogspot.com/ -- a young woman living in Germany who posted this link http://www.watch-tvseries.net/series60/Downton-Abbey/ Blogging really isn't my "thing" -- my life is busy without trying (struggling) to put my thoughts into coherent sentences for others to read and understand. However, a scene in this episode was so raw and relevant that i replayed it, to write it down word for word. September 22, 2013 Downton Abbey: season 4, episode 1, 1:01:21 Mary, still mourning the loss of Matthew for 6 months now, apologizes to Mr. Carson for harsh words she spoke to him earlier. He responds that they all loved Mr. Matthew... she begins to sob (the first we have seen of any emotion from her). Being the kind gentleman that he is he approaches her and hugs her, she continues what i call a "cleansing cry" Mr. Carson soothes her with these words: "You cry Milady. You have a good cry. That's what's needed now. And when you're ready you can get to work. Because you are strong enough. You are strong enough for the task." I especially identify with these words because i believe crying can be very healthy. Physically and spiritually we need a good cry when the time is right. Physically it can be a wonderful, effective stress-reliever! i allow myself a good cleansing cry when necessary. More importantly, crying out to God (Jesus) is crucial to our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. In and of ourselves, we are weak and helpless. Crying out to God for direction, strength, forgiveness, wisdom, the list is endless.... brings us to the throne of grace. God is on our side. that is when we can become "strong enough for the task"

Thought for the day ♥ If I could give an encouragement to the young married women i know and love, it would be what Kelsie expresses here ♥ "I believe that God led me toward missions in order to prepare me for my role as Joshua’s wife. When God brought Joshua and I together, I came to a new realization: missions was not my calling in life. Strange as it may sound, the more I searched the Scriptures, the clearer it became to me that my highest priority, even over missions, was to be the best possible helpmeet to Joshua in whatever God would lead him to do.
