"Out to LIVE"

... as opposed to lunch :0)

This week one of my children and i will be taking breaks from two things where we spend "extra" time... FB and Order & Chaos. Guess which one is my vice -- and one guess <3

I think a few distant friends (who haven't been around me since 8th grade, 40 years ago) have the impression this is going to be extremely difficult for me, even near impossible. They may even expect me to cheat :0/

However, i lived a happy, productive, interesting life long before the creator of FB was even born! So, what is the big deal?

Well, if you consider the myriad of online games you can play, the advertisers who demand your attention, and the sheer amount of time it takes to keep up with everyone's status updates, it seems logical to me that FBer's really do spend a chunk of their lives devoted to that phenomenon.

Heaven forbid that we should actually look into the real face of another human and exchange ideas, thoughts, opinions, and LiFE! WHat would we say?? What will they say back?? hmmm perhaps we will be more conscientious about what we do say to real humans, rather than the snippets and quips and quotes, and jokes, and blather so easily tossed into cyberspace.

No one's listening anyway, are they??

well, i am <3 and i will enjoy seeing the emotion and intent in the eyes and body language of those with whom i will communicate, and share my own thoughts. They will smile and nod -- we will laugh and cry -- and LiVE!!
